Our Novels were a labor of love. At its heart, it’s about the power of female friendships, particularly those in the middle years of life. As we age, our friendships often take on new meaning. The laughter, the shared memories, the deep conversations – these bonds become lifelines in a world that can often feel chaotic and unpredictable.
As Maya Angelou once said, “I’ve learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.” This sentiment rings true, especially when we think about our closest friendships. The women in our lives may not remember every conversation or every moment, but they’ll always remember how we were there for them, how we lifted them up, and how we made them feel love and understood.
When we were writing these stories, we wanted to explore the beauty of these friendships and how, even in our 40s, 50s and beyond, we’re still evolving. Middle age is a time when we can reflect on who we are, where we’ve been, and -most importantly-where we’re going. And who better to go on that journey with than the women who’ve stood by us, through it all?
I’ve always been inspired by the strength and resilience of women, especially those in my own life. The women who can sit around a table and tell stories that make you laugh until you cry, who show up when it matters most, and who remind you that, even when life gets tough, you don’t have to go through it alone.
These books are a tribute to those friendships. To the friends who understand us in ways no one else can, the ones who have seen us through our worst moments and celebrated our best.
